This Homemade Hamburger Buns recipe will elevate your burger recipes to a new level. There is nothing like eating a hot off the grill hamburger on a freshly baked bun. This bun recipe has just the right amount of doughy texture and taste. This hamburger bun recipe is simple to make and does not require a long time to let the dough rise. The neighbors may start wandering to your house when they smell the fresh bread smells coming from your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons warm water (110 to 115 degrees)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cup all-purpose flour, more if needed
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Line an insulated baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add oil and sugar; let stand for 5 minutes.

  3. Add the salt and enough flour to form a soft dough.

  4. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 3-5 minutes by hand. Do not let rise.

  5. Divide into 8 pieces; shape each into a ball. Place 3 inches apart on baking sheet. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.

  6. Brush tops with the melted butter.

  7. Bake at 425 degrees F for 8-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.
