Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat sheet.
  2. Use the whisk attachment to combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in bowl of electric mixer until well mixed.
  3. Cut the cold butter into small cubes and add to the bowl, whisking on low until the mixture resembles granola. Stir in the cheese until it is coated with the dry mixture but do not over beat. On low, add the buttermilk just until dry particles are mixed.
  4. Use a cup ice cream scoop to make 12 balls of dough and place on baking sheet about 2 apart.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown. While biscuits are baking, melt butter and add parsley and garlic salt. Immediately after taking biscuits from the oven, brush with the melted butter. Serve hot.

I love, love Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits! I always order 6 more to bring home, now I can make them at home! Thank you so much for this copycat recipe. I had to laugh at the comment below that says that Red Lobster uses Bisquick. For this recipe makes bisquick with the extra add ins' to make these tasty biscuits. Thank you so much for sharing this free copycat recipe that I'll be making and saving money too.

I have a friend who works at red lobster she says they use bisquick instead of flour.

We all love these Red Lobster biscuits but Red Lobster is way too pricey so we do not go but maybe once every year in a half and sometimes longer. I am so glad to see this recipe for them so we can enjoy them without the cost.Has anyone tried this yet? Do they taste like them?

These biscuits were the best I've ever tasted! I love that I can make them at home! #BestIdeaEver

you say this recipe makes 10 biscuits, but instructs me to drop 12 scoops onto the pan. thought you would want to know.

Thanks for letting us know. We've updated the recipe so the numbers match. Good catch!

Since the recipe calls for baking powder, I assume I use plain flour. If not, should I use self-rising flour?

Yes, this recipe calls for regular all-purpose flour. If you'd like to use self-rising flour, you can just leave out the baking powder. Let us know how it turns out!

step 3 calls for adding buttermilk, but no buttermilk is listed in the ingredients ??

Thank you for pointing that out. Our editors have fixed the recipe accordingly. The ingredients should include 3/4 cup buttermilk.
