Mmmmm, Swedish meatballs just like Ikea used to make and still does. I love running over to Ikea and having this for lunch or meeting my husband when he is working late to grab dinner. It is so conveniently close to us. This recipe looks very simple to make so maybe I will surprise my family and actually cook them this time instead of going out the the restaurant.

During our infrequent pilgrimages to the shrine of IKEA, we'll normally pick up a bag or two of their Swedish meatballs. This is a nice lighter version of one of my favorites. I like the idea of baking these rather than frying. I think that's one of the reasons I like the frozen prepared kind since they're easy to heat up in the oven or microwave. I'm assuming these would freeze very well.

My husband has been after me to make this for so long. Now that I found this recipe I will give it a try. I am confused as to why it calls for beef bouillon when the meatballs are ground turkey though. My husband will not eat anything beef. Has anyone made these with out the beef bouillon?

I love this recipe for Homemade Swedish Meatballs. The recipe is the same one that I have used from my childhood too. We are not beef eaters so we use ground turkey and it comes out tasting great. I was taught to fry the meat balls in a cast iron skillet with a little bacon fat in the pan. As I got older and wanted a healthier way to make them, I started baking the meatballs. I think they come out better then fried, because your are not turning them to prevent burning. I love the sauce that tops the meatballs too, it's great to serve with a nice bread to soak up the extra gravy. Thank you so much for sharing this free recipe.

I REALLY ENJOY ALL YOUR GREAT RECIPES-SINCE I ENJOY OLD-FASHIONED HOME-COOKED MEALS.THANKS SO MUCH.
