Strawberry Stuffed French Toast

"This strawberry stuffed french toast recipe is so simple, but you’ll feel like you’re in a gourmet brunch cafe. Get ready for people to beg for your recipe! Store any leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days. To reheat, I recommend putting them back on a hot pan for a few minutes on each side. When you are done grilling your toast, place the cooked slices in an oven-safe pan and cover it with aluminum foil. Turn your oven to the warm setting or the lowest temperature it will allow. Once the oven preheats, turn the oven off and place the pan inside. That way, the french toast will stay hot without cooking anymore or drying out. Perfect hot breakfast every time!"

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup seedless strawberry jam
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup strawberries, finely chopped
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk or half-and-half
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 10 pieces of bread, thickly sliced
  • Strawberry sauce
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Syrup
  • Powdered sugar
  1. To make your strawberry stuffed french toast, first, add your cream cheese to a large mixing bowl and beat it until it’s fluffy.

  2. Add the jam and vanilla extract and beat again until the mixture is smooth.

  3. Gently fold in the strawberries just until combined and set the filling aside.

  4. If not already sliced, slice your bread into thick slices.

  5. Spread your desired amount of filling on one slice of bread and place another slice on top, sandwiching the filling between the two slices.

  6. Repeat with the remaining bread and filling and set aside.

  7. Heat a griddle or pan to 350 degrees and spray with nonstick cooking spray to coat.

  8. In a separate container, mix together your eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until combined.

  9. Dip the prepared filled slices of bread into the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides well.

  10. Place the slices on the preheated griddle and cook on each side for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.

  11. Serve immediately with your choice of toppings.
