My partner and I recently got our first home together and we got a polytunnel to grow some of our own vegetables but we made the rookie mistake of planting too much of the same thing at the same time instead of spreading it out so we are going to pickle some so they don't go to waste, hope this works!

Mmmm, my mom used to make homemade pickles all the time. They were so good that we would get into them and eat them before they were ready. I am really looking forward to trying out this recipe! I have a question that may seem silly though. It says to cover lightly with a lid but to not close and seal. Then to leave them on the counter for 2-4 days. Why wouldnt you close the lids properly? Is there no worry of contamination or spoilage by doing it this way?

What a great canning recipe. I love this! I can't wait to get some cucumbers and try this. I have been wanting to can pickles, but a lot of them sound pretty difficult. This sounds really easy and simple to do. I'm so excited to have found this. I love Claussen pickles, but they are so expensive, that I don't buy them very often. I can't wait to make my own! Thank you for posting this!
