This is such a great idea! How did I never know the secret before? So simple.

Breakfast just got easier. My favorite flavor of instant oatmeal has always been the maple and brown sugar, more the brown sugar than the maple. I am glad she did the research for us and found out what the secret was to getting creamier oatmeal at home. This is so much less expensive.

The link no longer works. I had to search it on Google

Just an FYI to let everyone else know that the link is working.

Made this for my daughter, the teacher. She said it was tasty and really helped on the days she had to get to school early. (My grandsons don't always cooperate about getting ready on those days so Mom misses breakfast while making sure the boys eat theirs.) I will have to do some tweaking before I taste this since powdered soy milk does not substitute 1:1 for powdered cow's milk. (I have a dairy ALLERGY.)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I seriously dislike instant oatmeal. Besides being too sweet, it's also got a texture that I don't like. I prefer old-fashioned oatmeal cooked on the stove top - or even in the microwave oven. Cooked in the microwave, old fashioned oatmeal barely takes longer than the instant kind, especially if you add the water first and then boil the water & cook the oats at the same time. Fruit, or whatever else you like can be added either before or after cooking. I prefer adding those things after, but, to each his/her own.
