"I have been making fried cabbage for over 50 years. Actually my mother taught me the recipe over 60 years ago. I always use about 2 1/2 lb. of bacon when I make mine. I simply fry my bacon and then boil the cabbage. I don't use spices because the bacon is flavored by the bacon. I make this for church socials family meals (with only 5 family members when I make it we eat it for a week but no one complains.) That is all that it takes to make this hearty and filling dish"

"A delicious and so refreshing feta cheese salad, with simple and common ingredients, a wholly satisfying and flavorful salad. Season with salt right before serving as otherwise, it releases lots of water. If you do not like the seeds of the cucumber you can remove the middle section with the help of a teaspoon. Just cut the cucumber lengthways to facilitate this. I never do as I don't think it is necessary and I love cucumber as it comes."

Ingredients

  • 1 medium cucumber
  • 200 g cherry tomatoes
  • 3 sticks celery
  • 200 g feta cheese
  • 1 onion red
  • 1 spring rosemary
  • chili optional
  • salt

  1. Wash all vegetables thoroughly.

  2. Peel the cucumber slightly and chop it into small chunks. Chop the tomatoes, onion, chilly and celery. Mix well.

  3. Cut the cheese into small cubes and scatter it around the salad. Mix a little more.

  4. Scatter some rosemary leaves.
