Ingredients

  • 5 russet potatoes
  • 1800 milliliters chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 9 strips thick cut smoked bacon, cooked until crisp
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon freeze dried chives
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 6 tablespoons whole milk
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • cheddar cheese, for garnish
  • green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, simmer the potatoes in the chicken broth with the thyme and basil until tender, but not falling apart.

  2. Add the crumbled bacon, whole milk, and chives. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.

  3. Bring to a simmer.

  4. Mix the cornstarch with the 6 tablespoons of whole milk.

  5. Add the cornstarch mixture and stir until thickened. Simmer again.

  6. Serve each bowl topped with cheddar cheese and green onions.

recipe to vague and chicken broth listed as mililiters. We don't readily know how much 1800 milliliters is in american measurements.

1800 millimeters is 7.56 cups (7.5)

so does each person get a whole potato in the bowl? directions are kind of missing things what about the skins?
